Introduction to EMI Analysis

eCADSTAR's EMI analysis module is a support module that scans the factors which cause EMI in PCBs at High Speed. It adopts the EMC consortium technology of the University of Missouri-Rolla (U.S.A). Worldwide, electrical product manufacturers, EDA tool vendors, and EMC researchers gather in the EMC consortium to research approaches to EMC issues and the causal analyses that mainly concern electrical products.

The analysis and verification methods of the consortium are incorporated into the EMI analysis module.  Unlike conventional electromagnetic field analysis methods that were slow, this tool can quickly process all signals on a board collectively. The following main verification features are included. Each contributes to the analysis using a simplified calculation formula that is dedicated to its target.

  • Verification of signal loop noise.
  • Verification of I/O coupling noise.
  • Verification of common mode noise.
  • Display of the map of various voltages on a board.
