Display

For the relevant attribute in the Attribute Manager dialog, the Display dialog allows you to set whether it is displayed for a specified object in eCADSTAR Library Editor, eCADSTAR Schematic Editor or eCADSTAR PCB Editor. This dialog is launched when you click the Display check box in the Library, Schematic or PCB section of the Attribute Manager dialog.

Value   Description
Display table   For each area of eCADSTAR, this table shows the objects for which the relevant user-defined attribute can be displayed. You can specify that the user-defined object is displayed for an object by selecting the Display check box. User-defined attributes can be displayed for the following objects.

eCADSTAR Library Editor:

  • Part: a part that is added in eCADSTAR Library Editor.

eCADSTAR Schematic Editor:

  • Block: a block that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor using the Add Block command.
  • Figure: a figure that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor.
  • Frame: a component that is defined as Sheet Frame in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table.
  • Global Connector: a global connector that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Global Connector is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table. Global connectors allow global signals such as power and ground to be passed through hierarchical designs.
  • Ground: a ground symbol that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Ground is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table.
  • Hierarchy Connector: a hierarchy connector symbol that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Hierarchy Connector is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table. See Generating a Child Board. Hierarchy connectors are used to connect between hierarchy blocks in a design.
  • Part: a part that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Parts is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table.
  • Power: a power symbol that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Power is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table.
  • Sheet Connector: a sheet connector symbol that you add to the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Sheet Connector is displayed in the Component Type column, in the Component Browser, Property Table.

eCADSTAR PCB Editor

  Object Displays the objects in the relevant area of eCADSTAR for which user-defined attributes can be displayed.
  Display Allows you to specify whether the relevant user-defined attribute is displayed for the associated object.
Note
This setting specifies whether user-defined attributes are displayed in both eCADSTAR Schematic Editor and Symbol Editor. However, the Read Only check box in the Attribute Manager dialog sets their editable status in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor only.
  • Not selected: the relevant user-defined attribute is not displayed in the following areas of eCADSTAR:
OK   Saves the settings that you specify in the Display dialog, and closes the dialog. The relevant Display check box is updated in the Attribute Manager dialog. This check box shows whether the user-defined attribute is displayed for all available objects, some of them or for none of them.
Cancel   Closes the Display dialog without saving your changes.
