Property Table
The Property table in Component Browser allows you to edit the property values that are associated with a circuit or schematic sheet. User-defined attributes can also be edited, which are specified in the Attribute Manager dialog. For definitions of the displayed properties, refer to the Properties Panel or Attribute List Help topics. Alternatively, search in the Help using the property name.
If you specify a Reference Designator value that already exists for a component on any sheet in the design, then a warning dialog is displayed which shows the duplicate value. However, it is not displayed if the value exists within a block in the design.
- Click Yes in the dialog to keep the duplicate value.
- Click No in the dialog to discard the duplicate value.
The warning dialog is not displayed if a duplicate Reference Designator value is assigned to empty gates or empty power boxes.
Edit properties in the table as follows.
Typing a Value Using the Keyboard
- Click a cell to select it, and type in a new value.
- Press Return on the keyboard, or click away from the cell.
Changing Multiple Values Simultaneously
- Select multiple cells by dragging the mouse, or using the Ctrl or Shift keys.
- Type in a new value, and press Return on the keyboard or click away from the selected cells. The value is added to all the selected cells.
Entering Values from a List
- If the values in a cell can be selected from a list, click in the cell to display the drop-down arrow.
- Click the arrow to display the items that can be selected in the cell.
- Click a displayed item to select it.
Copying Values using the Fill Handle
- Click a cell to select it. A fill handle is displayed
at the lower-right of the selected cell. This is illustrated below.
- Drag the fill handle into the cells in which the value will be added. The value in the selected cell is copied to the newly-selected cells.
- If you select a single cell that contains numeric data, sequential data can be added by dragging the fill handle while pressing the Ctrl key.
- If you select multiple cells that contain sequential numeric data:
- The sequence is continued by dragging the fill handle.
- The sequence is copied to newly-selected cells by dragging the fill handle while pressing the Ctrl key.
Filtering Values
Enter a value in the <Filter> cell to filter the relevant column. See: Filtering Displayed Values in eCADSTAR Tables
- For a multi-gated part, the Fitted attribute that you specify is applied to all gate components that are variants of it. The Undo and Redo commands apply to all the gate components.
- If you change the Reference Designator value for a gate component, then the value is updated for all parts in the design with that Reference Designator value.
