Rotate Around Reference Point

For a component on the canvas in eCADSTAR PCB Editor, use the Rotate Around Reference Point command to rotate it around the reference point that you select in the dialog. Execute this command by selecting Component > Placement > Rotate Around Reference Point on the ribbon. Alternatively, right-click a component on the canvas and select Rotate Around Reference Point on the assist menu.

Note
  • When the command is launched from the assist menu, the Rotate Around Reference Point dialog is not displayed. However, the values that are set in the dialog are used by the command.
  • You cannot rotate components that are set to fixed.

Reroute

Value Description
ON If selected, then the tracks that are connected to the component are rerouted in 45-degree increments when you rotate the component. This process ignores Online DRC constraints, and therefore does not avoid obstacles. DRC errors may be created as a result. It is recommended that Post Check is toggled on to highlight any errors on the canvas that are caused by rotating a component. This is done by selecting Report > Design Rule Checking > Post Check on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor Ribbon.
Note
If there are thermal lines on the component, then they are not rerouted and are left in the same position.
OFF If selected, then the component is rotated without rerouting the tracks that are connected to it.

Move entire placement group

Value Description
ON If selected, components are also rotated that are in the same placement group as the relevant component.
OFF Only the selected component is rotated.
