Mapping Sheet Frame Symbols
This page allows you to configure the CADSTAR symbol reference and alternate names to be defined as sheet frame symbols in eCADSTAR.
The migration result of the sheet frame symbol will have its Component Type property defined as Sheet Frame. If sheet frame definitions are not defined in the mapping data, then the symbol will result in having a Component Type of Part.
This page of the CADSTAR Migration Mapping dialog is referenced when migrating Library and Schematic design data.
In CADSTAR Sheet Frame symbols are typically created in the Documentation Symbol Library. Documentation symbols are not directly migrated to the eCADSTAR library from CADSTAR. This part of the process is documented in the following sections.

Migrating the CADSTAR Documentation Symbol Library
Adding Sheet Frame mapping
- With the Sheet Frames page of the mapping dialog displayed, click the Add Row button. A new empty row is added to the grid, and the cell in the Reference Name is selected for editing.
- Type in the CADSTAR Reference Name as defined in the CADSTAR Library or Design.
- In the cell in the Alternate Name column, type in the eCADSTAR Alternate Name as defined in the CADSTAR Library or design.
- Click Apply to save the changes and keep the mapping dialog open. Alternatively, click OK to save the changes and close the mapping dialog.
If the definition of sheet frames is not defined then they will be migrated with Component Type of Part. This will cause problems with the Schematic DRC tools when considering these symbols.
