CADSTAR Documentation Symbol Library Requirements for Migration

The CADSTAR to eCADSTAR Migration Tool cannot directly migrate CADSTAR Documentation Symbol libraries to eCADSTAR libraries. These must be migrated as part of the design migration, and a post-migration task is required to place the items in the eCADSTAR central library. See: Migrating CADSTAR Design Data.

Migrating the Schematic Documentation Symbol Library

• Add all required documentation library symbols from within the library into a blank schematic design. Ensure all alternates are considered.
• Save the design, and export it to an archive (csa) file.

Migrating the PCB Component Documentation Symbol Library

• Add all required documentation library symbols from within the library into a blank PCB design. Ensure all alternates are considered. For a PCB design, the layer position must also be considered.
• Save the design, and export it to an archive (cpa) file.
