Creating or Releasing a Differential Pair

The following procedures describe how to create or release a differential pair in Constraint Browser.

  • In eCADSTAR PCB Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Design Rules > Constraint Browser or Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser on the ribbon.
  • In eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Browser > Constraint or Home > Browser > Constraint on the ribbon.

Creating a Differential Pair

  1. In Constraint Browser, click the Signals button and then select the Signals tab. The Signals tree is displayed.
  2. In the Signals tree, select two E-Nets. Press the Ctrl key to select multiple E-Nets, if required.
  3. Right-click the specified E-Nets and select Create Differential Pair on the assist menu. The Create Differential Pair dialog is displayed. The name of the differential pair is displayed in the following format: [Signal1]-[Signal2]. This value cannot be changed.
  4. Click OK in the Create Differential Pair dialog. The new differential pair is added to the Signals tree, and the specified E-Nets are moved into it.

Releasing a Differential Pair

  1. In Constraint Browser, click the Signals button, and then select the Signals tab. The Signals tree is displayed.
  2. In the Signals tree, right-click a differential pair to be released and select Delete on the assist menu. The specified differential pair is released, and the E-Nets that it contained are displayed in the Signals tree.
