Edit Differential Pin Pair Dialog

The Edit Differential Pin Pair dialog allows you to edit a differential pair that you select in the signals tree in the Constraint Browser, Signals section, Signals tab. You can add or delete the differential pin pair that belongs to the differential pair. The relevant differential net pairs are updated automatically. Pins are displayed in the following format: Reference designator (Pin number) [Parent Net name]. Launch this dialog by right-clicking a differential pair, and selecting Edit Differential Pin Pair on the assist menu.

Note
For differential pairs that have bridge resistors, the same pins are displayed in both the Pin List1 and Pin List2 boxes.

Item   Description
Differential Pair   Displays the name of the differential pair that you select in the signals tree in the Constraint Browser, Signals section, Signals tab.
Pin List1   The pins are displayed of E-Nets which make up the selected differential pair, but which are not differential pin pairs. The value that you select is added to the Differential Pin Pair List, Pin1 column when you click Add to Pin Pair list.
Pin List2   The pins are displayed of E-Nets which make up the selected differential pair, but which are not differential pin pairs. The value that you select is added to the Differential Pin Pair List, Pin2 column when you click Add to Pin Pair list.
Add to Pin Pair list   This button is made available if you select a pin from both the Pin List1 and Pin List2 boxes. Clicking Add to Pin Pair list creates a new differential pin pair using the selected pins, and adds it to the Differential Pin Pair List box. The pins in the Pin List1 and Pin List2 columns are added to the Pin1 and Pin2 columns, respectively.
Note
For differential pairs with bridge resistors, the Add to Pin Pair list button is made unavailable if the same pin is selected in both the Pin List1 and Pin List2 boxes.
Remove from Pin Pair list   This button is made available if you select a differential pin pair in the Differential Pin Pair List box. Click Remove from Pin Pair list to remove it from this box. Its constituent E-Nets are moved to the Pin List1 and Pin List2 boxes.
Differential Pin Pair List box   Shows the differential pin pairs that are set. To remove a differential pin pair, select it and click Remove from Pin Pair list. Its constituent E-Nets are moved to the Pin List1 and Pin List2 boxes.
Pin1 Pin 1 of the differential pin pair is shown. This is added from the Pin List1 box when you click Add to Pin Pair list.
Pin2 Pin 2 of the differential pin pair is shown. This is added from the Pin List2 box when you click Add to Pin Pair list.
OK   Saves the differential pin pairs that are shown in the Differential Pin Pair List box, and closes the dialog.
Cancel   Closes the dialog without saving any changes that you make.

Note
If you try to add the following differential pin pairs, then an error message is shown and they are not added.
  • A differential pin pair which conflicts with an existing differential pin pair or differential net pair.
  • A differential pin pair which consists of two pins on the same net.
