Change Pin Label/Part Name

The Change Pin Label/Part Name command allows you to change the block pin label for a hierarchy connector. Hierarchy connectors are used to connect between hierarchy blocks in a design. It is accessed by selecting the block pin in the hierarchy connector, and selecting Hierarchy > Block Interface > Change Pin Label/Part Name on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon. Any messages relating to the command are displayed in the Output Panel .

Dialog

Item   Description
Pin Label/Part Name   Enter a new value for the pin label of the hierarchy connector.
Synchronize net name   If selected, the value specified in the Pin Label/Part Name box is assigned to the net that is connected to the hierarchy connector/block pin. This value is also updated to the net, bus and connectors (sheet connectors, power, ground and hierarchy connectors) that are connected to the block pin or hierarchy connector. The Only on lower circuit check box is made available.
  Only on lower circuit If selected, the value specified in the Pin Label/Part Name box is not updated to the net connected to the block pin, but is only updated to the net connected to the hierarchy connector. This check box is only made available when Synchronize net name is selected.
OK   The block pin label for the hierarchy connector is changed to the value that you set in the Pin Label/Part Name box, and the Change Pin Label/Part Name dialog is closed..
Cancel   Closes the Change Pin Label/Part Name dialog without updating the block pin label for the hierarchy connector.

 

Note
  • If the block pin that corresponds to the hierarchy connector does not exist, or multiple corresponding objects exist, you cannot change the name of the block pin label.
  • If the connected net is connected to a global connector, the name of the global connector is not changed.
