Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block
The Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block command allows you to add new pins to the upper circuit block of a hierarchy connector. Any messages relating to the command are displayed in the Output Panel . When you execute this command by selecting one or more hierarchy connectors, pins can be generated for the symbol of the circuit block. This procedure is described below.
- On the schematic sheet, select a hierarchy block.
- On the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon, select Hierarchy > View > Open Instance Circuit. A new sheet is launched for the instance circuit that contains the block.
- In the instance circuit, select a hierarchy connector, and then click Hierarchy > Block Interface > Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon. The block symbol is displayed in a new sheet.
- On the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon, click Home > Pin > Add Pin. The Add Pin dialog is displayed.
- On the block symbol sheet, click the required positions of the pins.
- To assign a pin label to a newly-added pin, select the pin on the block symbol and then specify a value for Pin Label in the Properties panel.
- Save your changes to the block symbol by clicking File > Save on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon.
- Close the sheet for the instance circuit that contains the block.
