Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block

The Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block command allows you to add new pins to the upper circuit block of a hierarchy connector. Any messages relating to the command are displayed in the Output Panel . When you execute this command by selecting one or more hierarchy connectors, pins can be generated for the symbol of the circuit block. This procedure is described below.

  1. On the schematic sheet, select a hierarchy block.
  2. On the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon, select Hierarchy > View > Open Instance Circuit. A new sheet is launched for the instance circuit that contains the block.
  3. In the instance circuit, select a hierarchy connector, and then click Hierarchy > Block Interface > Add New Pin to Upper Circuit Block on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon. The block symbol is displayed in a new sheet.
  4. On the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon, click Home > Pin > Add Pin. The Add Pin dialog is displayed.
  5. On the block symbol sheet, click the required positions of the pins.
  6. To assign a pin label to a newly-added pin, select the pin on the block symbol and then specify a value for Pin Label in the Properties panel.
  7. Save your changes to the block symbol by clicking File  > Save on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon.
  8. Close the sheet for the instance circuit that contains the block.
