Add Symbol
The Add Symbol dialog allows you to configure a symbol, and add it to a schematic sheet. It is displayed by clicking Home > Add > Symbol or Component > Add > Symbol on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon. It is also displayed by clicking the PWR, GND, Sheet or Global button in the Component section of the ribbon. You can also launch this dialog by clicking Hierarchy > Add > Hierarchy on the ribbon. This allows you to add a hierarchy connector symbol from the referenced library.

Symbol name | Allows you to select a symbol from the library. The symbol name that you select is displayed in the Symbol name box. | |

Select Design symbol | Launches the dialog. This allows you to add a symbol from the design library. | |
Symbol alternate | Allows you to select an alternate symbol. | |
Net Label | Allows you to define a net label that is associated with a symbol being added. If a symbol that is not suitable to have a net name, this control is disabled. Note Only the following types of symbols can have net labels.

Displays the Select Net List dialog. This allows you to select nets available within the schematic design, rather than manually inputting the Net Label value. | |
Flip horizontally | Allows you to flip the specified symbol horizontally. | |
ON | If selected, the specified symbol is flipped horizontally. | |
OFF | If selected, the specified symbol is not flipped. | |
Rotation step | Specify the angle of rotation for the specified symbol (real number greater than -360 but smaller than 360). | |
Bit count |
Sets the bit count for a multiplexed representation of the symbol. Setting the bit count for a symbol enables a single symbol object to represent multiple symbols. |

Scale | Specify the scale of the symbol that you add to a schematic sheet. Enter a positive real number above 0.0. | |
Specify Color | Allows you to specify the color of the symbol. | |
ON | If selected, the Color box is made available. | |
OFF | If selected, then you cannot specify the color of the symbol, and the Color box is made unavailable. | |
Color box | If Specify Color is set to ON, then specify the color of the symbol in the Select color dialog. |
