For a part or footprint that is not in the schematic, the Add Component command allows you to add it to the board. You can select a component from the library, or select a component that is on the board, or which has previously been used on the board. See: Adding Components.
Note
- If a component that you select from the library exists on the board, the version on the board is used, even if it is older than the library version.
- If you add a non-electrical footprint to a board, it is defined as a part in eCADSTAR PCB Editor, and assigned the same name as the footprint.
