Area Fill (Circle) / Component Area (Circle)

The Area Fill (Circle) command allows you to create a circular area fill in Footprint Editor by selecting Area Fill in the Area Fill (Circle) dialog. Alternatively, select Component Area to create a circular component area. In 3D View mode, the component area is displayed as a filled shape, in order to help you place the part on the board. As this might obscure the 3D model that is associated with the footprint, you can change the visibility of the component area by adjusting the view style settings for the associated layer. You can also specify the standoff height and maximum height of the component area in the Height (Standoff - Maximum) field. Launch this command in 2D View mode only by selecting Shape > Area Fill > Circle on the ribbon.
