Conditional Padstack Settings Dialog

When creating a new design rule library, the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog allows you to define the preferred padstack that is used between specified layers. When configuring an existing design rule library, this dialog allows you to define the signals and the preferred padstack that is used between specified layers. This dialog is displayed by clicking Conditional Padstack Settings in the Vias tab, in the Rule Editor dialog.

When Creating a New Design Rule Library

When creating a new design rule library, set the preferred padstack that is used between specified layers, using the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog. The following fields are available.

Padstack

Item   Description
Options   Displays the From-To values that you specify for vias in the Via layer span section of the Vias tab in the Rule Editor dialog.
From-To Select a From-To value for layers (select multiple items using the Ctrl and Shift keys). The padstack that you select in the Padstack box is used, as a preference, for vias that connect the specified layers.
Filter   Enter an alphanumeric value. Only padstacks that contain the specified value are shown in the Padstack box.
Padstack box   Displays the padstacks in the component library. The displayed items can be filtered using the Filter box.

Add: the From-To values and padstack that you select in the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog are added to the Conditional Padstack table in the Vias tab, in the Rule Editor dialog.

Close: closes the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog without adding values to the Conditional Padstack table.

When Configuring an Existing Design Rule Library

When configuring an existing design rule library, the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog allows you to define the signals and the preferred padstack that are used between specified layers. The following fields are available.

Signal

For the signals in a design, this section allows you to filter them before selecting a signal in the Signal box. Select multiple signals using the Ctrl and Shift keys.

Item   Description
Filter   Filter the signals shown in the Signal box by toggling the display of busses, differential pairs, or power and ground nets, and entering an alphanumeric value in the Name box.
Object The Object buttons allow you to toggle the display of busses or differential pairs in the Filter box, or toggle the display of power and ground nets in the Signal box. Only one button can be toggled on at a time.
Bus If busses exist in the design, this button toggles their display in the Filter box. Click a bus in the Filter box to show associated E-Nets in the Signal box.
Differential pairs If differential pairs exist in the design, this button toggles their display in the Filter box. Click a differential pair in the Filter box to show associated E-Nets in the Signal box.
Power/Ground signal Toggles the display of power and ground nets in the Signal box.
Filter box Click an item in the Filter box to display the associated E-Nets in the Signal box.
Name Enter an alphanumeric value. Only signals that contain the specified value are shown in the Signal box.
Signal box Displays the E-Nets associated with the selected item in the Filter box. If no Object button is toggled on and nothing is selected in the Filter box, all signals in the design are displayed.

Padstack

Allows you to select From-To values for layers, and assign a padstack to them.

Refer to library (default to ON)   Allows you to select whether padstacks in the component library are displayed in the Padstack box.
  • If selected (ON): just the padstacks in the component library are displayed.
  • If not selected (OFF): just the padstacks in the design are displayed.
Padstack box   Displays the padstacks in the component library or in the design. The displayed items can be filtered using the Filter box.

Add: the Signals, From-To values and padstack that you select in the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog are added to the Conditional Padstack table in the Vias tab, in the Rule Editor dialog.

Close: closes the Conditional Padstack Settings dialog without adding values to the Conditional Padstack table.
