Add User Tool

The Add User Tool command allows you launch external programs from within the Quick Access Toolbar or the ribbon. You can also do this by adding the required string in the Macro dialog (see: Launching External Programs from Macros). However, the Add User Tool command simplifies this procedure by using a dialog. It also allows you to subsequently access the saved User command in the User Command Settings dialog. User commands that you create are listed in the Add User Tool drop-down menu on the Quick Access Toolbar.

Launch the Add User Tool command from the Quick Access Toolbar in eCADSTAR. Alternatively, launch it from the Add split button in the User Command Settings dialog. You can also add the User Tool Menu to the Quick Access Toolbar using the drop down list on the right of this toolbar. This allows you to select an existing User command or launch the Add User Tool command.

Note
  • To delete a User command, select it in the User Command Settings dialog, and click Delete.
  • You can add the new User command subsequently to the Quick Access Toolbar or the ribbon. You can also add it to a new tab on the ribbon using the Ribbon Setting dialog. This is displayed by right-clicking the ribbon or the status bar, and selecting Customize the Ribbon. Alternatively, select File > Configuration > Customize the Ribbon on the ribbon.
  • User commands that you create are specific to the current workspace. See: Using Workspaces.
