CADSTAR Design Migration
The CADSTAR Design Migration process migrates CADSTAR Schematic and PCB design data to a suitable data format for the "Company default" eCADSTAR Master Library environment. It is recommended that the matching schematic and PCB is migrated as a single process. This ensures that the best results are produced during the migration of design data by supplying the required information to the migration tools. It also provides a more efficient method of synchronizing the migrated designs to the Master eCADSTAR Library during post-migration tasks.
Note
- To prepare CADSTAR schematic and PCB designs for migration, they must be fully annotated or synchronized. This is done by executing the ECO Update command for the PCB design or the Back Annotation command for the schematic.
- 3D model data that is used in CADSTAR is not included in the migration process from CADSTAR to eCADSTAR.
The following are optional tasks.
- A library reload can be executed in both the schematic and PCB design. This ensures that the designs contain the latest versions of the respective library items.
- The DRC command can also be executed in the PCB Design to confirm the current error status for design rules.
