Attributes Dialog

The Attributes dialog allows you to preview a part, footprint or symbol that is selected in the Library Searcher panel, and send it to the currently-active application. It is displayed by clicking a part, footprint or symbol in the Library Searcher panel. If a part is selected in the Library Searcher panel, then footprint and symbol alternates, and gates can be selected.

 

If a part is Selected in the Library Searcher Panel

The attributes of the part are displayed in the Attributes dialog. If a footprint and symbol are assigned to the part, they are previewed.

Item		Description
Attributes table		Displays the attributes associated with the part. If you specify a hyperlink for a user-defined attribute in the Type column of the Attribute Manager dialog, then it can be launched by right-clicking in the Name or Value column, and selecting Open Hyperlink on the assist menu. If a hyperlink is not specified, then the Open Hyperlink command is made unavailable.
	Name	Displays the attribute name.
	Value	Displays the value associated with the attribute name. The value cannot be updated in this dialog.
		Sends the displayed details to the currently-active application.
Alternate footprint box		If an alternate footprint is assigned to the selected part in the library, it can be selected from the Alternate footprint box at the top-right.
Footprint preview box		If a footprint is assigned to the part, the default alternate is previewed in the Footprint preview box at the top of the dialog, and the footprint name and alternate is displayed underneath.  If necessary, drag the divider between the preview windows to adjust their size.
Gate drop-down list		If multiple gates are assigned to the selected part, a different gate can be selected from the Gate box at the left of the preview boxes. If only one gate is assigned to the part, ALL is displayed in the box, and the box is made unavailable. When a gate is selected in the Gate box, alternates are shown for that gate only. When ALL is displayed in the Gate box, alternates are displayed for all gates. Each symbol shows its name and selected alternate. If gates are not defined, or the symbol does not exist, they are not displayed in the preview.
Alternate symbol drop-down list		If an alternate symbol is assigned to the selected part in the library, it can be selected from the Alternate symbol box at the right of the preview boxes. If an alternate is chosen which does not exist for a gate (or power box) in the part, that gate (or power box) will use its default alternate instead.
Symbol preview box		If a symbol is assigned to the part, it is previewed in the Symbol preview box at the bottom of the dialog. If necessary, drag the divider between the preview windows to adjust their size.

If a Footprint is Selected in the Library Searcher Panel

The attributes of the footprint are displayed in the Attributes dialog, and the footprint is previewed.

Item		Description
Attributes table		Displays the attributes associated with the footprint.
	Name	Displays the attribute name.
	Value	Displays the value associated with the attribute name. The value cannot be updated in this dialog.
		Sends the displayed details to the currently-active application.
Footprint preview box		Displays the selected footprint using its default alternate. The footprint name and alternate is displayed underneath.

If a Symbol is Selected in the Library Searcher Panel

The attributes of the symbol are displayed in the Attributes dialog, and the symbol is previewed.

	Value	Displays the value associated with the attribute name. The value cannot be updated in this dialog.
