Sending Selected Objects to the Canvas

The following procedure describes how to display and select an object on the canvas that you specify in Constraint Browser.

  • In eCADSTAR PCB Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Design Rules > Constraint Browser or Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser on the ribbon.
  • In eCADSTAR PCB Viewer, launch Constraint Viewer by clicking Home > Design Rules > Constraint Viewer on the ribbon.
  • In eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Browser > Constraint or Home > Browser > Constraint on the ribbon.
  • In eCADSTAR Schematic Viewer, launch Constraint Viewer by clicking Home > Constraint Viewer > Constraint Viewer on the ribbon.

Always Sending Selected States

  1. In Constraint Browser, toggle on Send selected item (Always send selection). The button is highlighted in blue.
  2. Click a target object on the signal tree.
  • When the object is in a neutral state: the object is selected on the canvas after it is sent.
  • If a command is running that can receive the object, the object is sent to the command.

Sending Selected States from the Tree when Send is Specified

  1. In Constraint Browser, toggle off Send selected item (Always send selection).
  2. Click a target object on the tree. The target object is selected in Constraint Browser.
  3. Click Send selected item Send selection on the assist menu.
  • When the object is in a neutral state: the object is displayed and selected on the canvas when it is sent.
  • If a command is running that can receive the object, the object is sent to the command.

Sending Selected States from Constraint Browser

In the table on the right side of Constraint Browser, select a cell and click Send selected item Send selection on the assist menu. The relevant target object is selected in Constraint Browser.

  • When the object is in a neutral state, it is displayed and selected on the canvas when it is sent.
  • If a command is running that can receive the object, then the object is sent to the command.

 

Note
In eCADSTAR PCB Editor: if the Send pin pair field in the Constraint Browser Options dialog is set to Highlight, then pin pairs on the canvas are highlighted. The Constraint Browser Options dialog is displayed by clicking Utility > Options in Constraint Browser.
