String Dialog (Variant Text)

String Dialog is launched by pointing the cursor in this column, and clicking the displayed button.

 

There are two ways to start it.

  • Add Text

  1. The Variant Text dialog is displayed by clicking the Details button in the Add Text dialog.
  2. String Dialog is launched by pointing the cursor in Text String field column, and clicking the displayed button.

 

  • Properties Panel

  1. On the canvas in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, select a variant text.
  2. In the Properties Panel, point the cursor in the String row. The button is displayed.
  3. Click to launch the String dialog.

Dialog

Item Description
Strings   Specify the text string that is added to the canvas.
Add design field  

You can select Design Field from the menu.

Design Field is a string of characters that indicates the state of the design, etc. It is defined in the sheet attributes of the Schematic Editor, and is automatically replaced with that information when text is added to the design.

The design fields that can be inserted are as follows.

  Design Title Displays the Design Title.
  Short Jobname

Displays the Design Name.

Example: Schematic.sdes

  Long Jobname

Displays the Design Path.

Example: D:\Work\Schematic\Schematic.sdes

  Number of Sheets

Displays the Total Page Number.

The Page Number function must be enabled.

  Sheet Number

Displays the Current Page Number.

The Page Number function must be enabled.

  Sheet Name

Displays the Description.

If there is no description, the current sheet name is displayed.

Example: 003

  Variant Name Displays the Variant Name.
  Registered User Displays Created By.
  Company Displays Company.
  Current User Displays Modified By.
  Date Displays Modified Date.
  Time Displays Modified Time.
  Machine Name Displays Machine Name.
  From File...

The From File Dialog will open.

The file specified in the file path will be imported.

If the file path is a relative path, the specified file will be the one viewed from the design being edited.

OK   Closes the String dialog with assigning a value.
Cancel   Closes the String dialog without assigning a value.
