The Design Variation dialog allows you to view the design variations that were created in the associated schematic design. Variants are added to a design in eCADSTAR PCB Editor by either forward annotating a design with variants, or by creating a new design based on a schematic design that has variants. The components that are associated with each design variation are listed in the dialog, and are displayed on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor canvas by clicking them in the Component list table.
Note
- A license is required to access this functionality in eCADSTAR.
- When a variant component is added to eCADSTAR PCB Editor, an underscore and a number are added to its reference designator. For example, a variant of component "C2" is displayed in eCADSTAR PCB Editor as "C2_1". If you specify a suffix of “VAR”, for example, then the reference designator for the variant version would be displayed “C2_VAR1”.
