Move Origin
The Move Origin command
in eCADSTAR PCB Editor
allows you to move the origin of a board by clicking the required position on the canvas, or specifying coordinates in the Input Coordinates Dialog. This may be necessary after changing the board outline, for example. Toggle the command in 2D
View mode only by clicking Design
> Origin > Move Origin on the ribbon.
- Click Yes in the displayed dialog to move the origin to the specified position. The coordinates of this position are immediately changed to (0, 0), and the command remains toggled on.
- Click No in the displayed dialog to not move the origin. The command remains toggled on.
You can click Esc on the keyboard to toggle off the command.
Warning
- Photo, Drill, ODB++, IPC-2581, IPC-D-356A and Pick and Place data must be regenerated after Move Origin is executed.
- Any saved canvas views are immediately updated to use the new origin that you specify.
Note
- After executing Move Origin, the Undo command toggles off the command. However, it does not change the position of the origin, and cannot revoke previous operations.
- To toggle the display of the board origin mark, see: Displaying the Scale and Board Origin Mark.
- If design data is opened in read-only mode, then the command is made unavailable.
