Arrange Components

The Arrange Components command allows you to place and align components on the board in eCADSTAR PCB Editor. It is launched by clicking On the ribbon, click Component > Placement > Arrange Components Arrange Components on the ribbon in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.

 

Note
Components are arranged in the following order.
  • By component group.
  • From the largest to the smallest, by component area.
  • By Reference name.

Arrange mode

Value   Description
Selected components   Manual arrangement places and lines up selected components in a specified area.
All components   All components are arranged around the outside on the board.
Grouped components   All components that belong to the specified component group are arranged in the vicinity of the component group.
Note
  • Components for which no component group exists are lined up outside the board.
  • If you select a non-rectangular component group, then some components may be arranged outside of this area, and will need to be placed manually.
  Group name Specify the component group to which the components you want to arrange belong.
Non-grouped components   Components that do not belong to a component group are arranged around the outside of the board.
Unplaced components   Unplaced components appear only in the reference Designator list, and not on the canvas. Selecting Unplaced components arranges these components around the outside of the board. For guidance on adding an unplaced component to the canvas, see Placing Components.

Direction

Value Description
Horizontal Components are arranged horizontally.
Vertical Components are arranged vertically.

Spacing

ValueDescription
Real number equal to or greater than 0.Specify the spacing at which components are arranged. (An amount twice as large as this value is applied to the spacing between components belonging to different component groups).

ApplyThe target components are placed and lined up. The Arrange Components dialog remains open.
ExitCloses the Arrange Components dialog without placing and lining up components.
