Resolve Library Conflicts
When library data is merged into the destination library, any source objects that are in conflict with the destination library are displayed in the Resolve Library Conflicts dialog. This dialog allows you resolve any conflicts that are preventing the library data from being merged. Each conflicted item is displayed as a table row in the dialog. The dialog is displayed if conflicts are detected when you click Merge in the Download Manager dialog, or in the Merge Confirmation dialog in eCADSTAR. It is also shown when you paste items between libraries in eCADSTAR Library Editor.
Note
- When you download parts in eCADSTAR PCB Editor or eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, the downloaded data is the source. The library that is displayed in the Product Settings dialog, Library section is the destination.
- When you download parts in eCADSTAR Library Editor, the downloaded data is the source. The currently-open library is the destination.
- When you paste library data in eCADSTAR Library Editor, the clipboard is the source. The library is the destination. In the rare event that a conflict occurs when you save library data in eCADSTAR Library Editor, the unsaved library data that you have pasted, or unsaved downloaded library data is the source. The open library is the destination.
- When you extract a downloaded .zip file that contains a 3D model, the original “date modified” value on the 3D model is overwritten by the current date. Consequently, if you merge the same downloaded part twice into the library, a conflict is detected between the two parts. This is because their “date modified” values are different. Merge a part by dragging and dropping the .zip folder onto the table in the Library Editor Panel: Parts Tab.

If an object exists in the destination library with the name specified in the Destination Name and Destination Alternate boxes, then an error message is displayed. | |
| Map to existing object | If selected, then the conflict is resolved by mapping the item to an existing item in the destination library. If the object specified in the Destination Name or Destination Alternate box does not exist in the destination library, then an error message is displayed. | |
| Overwrite existing object | If selected, then the conflict is resolved by overwriting the library
data in the destination library. If the object specified in the
Destination Name or Destination
Alternate box does not exist in the destination library,
then an error message is displayed.

| Destination Name | Allows you to specify the name of an object that is merged
into the destination library. By default, the same value as the
Source Name column is displayed.
In order to resolve a conflict, the Destination
Name column allows you to rename an object by typing a
valid name, or by selecting it in the Select
Destination Name dialog. This dialog allows you to select
from a list of relevant objects in the destination library. It
is displayed by pointing the cursor at the Destination
Name column, and then clicking the displayed  button. |

in this column, the button is displayed.
