The following procedures describe how to associate a non-conductor layer with a conductor layer, or delete the association with the conductor layer in the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialogs.
Associating a Non-Conductor Layer with a Conductor Layer
- In the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialog, click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration tree.
- Right-click a user-defined layer to associate with a conductor layer.
- On the assist menu, click Associate with Conductor Layer. Alternatively, click Associate Conductor in the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialog. The Specify Conductor Layer to Associate dialog is displayed.
- In the Specify Conductor Layer to Associate dialog, click a conductor layer to be associated. Multiple conductor layers can be selected using the Ctrl or Shift keys.
- In the Layer type box, select the association with the conductor layer.

It is strongly recommended that a particular user-defined layer is not assigned twice to the same conductor layer using both Other and keepout layer types.

- Click Associate. The association with the conductor layer is activated, and the Layer Configuration tree is refreshed.
Deleting the Association of a Non-conductor Layer with Conductor Layers
- In the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialog, click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration tree.
- Right-click a user-defined layer for which you want to release an association.
- On the assist menu, click Release All Associations or click Release Association in the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialog. dialog. All associations with conductor layers are released, and the Layer Configuration tree is refreshed.
