Adding or Deleting a User defined Layer

The following procedures describe how to add a User defined layer (non-conductor layer) to the technology, or delete it from the technology in the Technology Library Editor or Technology Editor dialogs.

Adding a User defined Layer to the Technology

  1. Click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration tree.
  2. Right-click the User defined layer node or a layer within this node, and select Add User defined Layer on the assist menu. Alternatively, click the User defined layer node or a layer within this node, and click the Add button. The Add User Defined Layer dialog is displayed.
  3. In the Add User Defined Layer dialog, enter the name for the new layer in the Layer name box and click OK.
  4. The new User defined layer is added to the Layer Configuration tree.
  5. If required, you can rename the layer by clicking its name and entering a new name.

 

Note
When entering a layer name, you must either enter a name without spaces, or use a separation character such as an underscore or a hyphen.

 

Deleting a User defined Layer from the Technology

  1. Click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration tree.
  2. Expand the User defined layer node in the Layer Configuration tree, and right-click the node of the User defined layer to delete. Select Delete on the assist menu. Alternatively, click the node of the User defined layer to delete, and click the Delete button. The User defined layer is deleted, and its association with the conductor layer is also deleted.
