Adding a System Layer to the Technology

The following procedures describe how to add a system layer to the technology in the Technology Library Editor dialog or Technology Editor dialog.

Adding a System Layer (Entire Board)

  1. In the Technology Editor dialog, click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration table.
  2. Click a root item (technology name) in the table, and then click Add Non-Circular Hole Layers on the assist menu. Alternatively, click Add. The System Layer (Entire Board) dialog is displayed.

Settings

Item Description
Number of non-circular hole layers This layer is assigned to enter non-circular holes.
Enter a positive value for the number of layers to be created.

Adding a System Layer (Conductor/Outermost Layer)

  1. Click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration table.
  2. Click the outermost conductor layer in the table, and then click Configure System Layer on the assist menu. Alternatively, click ConfigureSystem. The System Layer (Conductor Layer X) dialog is displayed.

Settings

Item Description
Number of symbol mark layers Enter a positive value for the number of symbol mark layers to be created.
Number of solder resist layers Enter a positive value for the number of solder resist layers to be created.
Number of metal mask layers Enter a positive value for the number of metal mask  layers to be created.
Height limit area This layer is assigned to enter height limit areas.
To create the layer, select the Use box.

Note
There is no command to delete a system layer. However, you can effectively delete a system layer by changing the quantity of layers such as symbol mark, solder resist or metal mask.

Adding a System Layer (Dielectric Layer)

  1. Click the Layer Configuration tab to display the Layer Configuration table.
  2. Click a dielectric layer in the table, and click Add Dielectric Layers on the assist menu. Alternatively, click Add. The System Layer (Dielectric Layer X-Y) dialog is displayed.

Settings

Item Description
Number of dielectric layers Enter a positive value for the number of dielectric layers to be created.

Note
There is no command to delete a dielectric system layer. However, you can effectively delete a dielectric system layer by changing the quantity of dielectric layers.
