Editing the Grid Specification

The following procedures describe how to create grids using the Grids tab, in the Rule Editor dialog, and set the active grid.

Creating Grids

Define the name of a grid, and configure its pitch in the X and Y direction as follows.

  1. In the Rule Editor dialog, select the Grids tab.
  2. In the Grids section, Grid name box, define the name of a new grid and click Add. The grid name is added to the Grids table.
  3. In the Grids table, set the attributes for the grid as follows:
  4. In the X column, set the spacing in the X direction between grid lines in the associated grid.
  5. In the Y column, set the spacing in the Y direction between grid lines in the associated grid.

Note
Multiple grids can be created simultaneously by entering multiple names, separated by a space.

Specify the individual grids that are used, by default, for tracks, vias, placing components and for designing non-conductor figures and objects.

  1. In the Track grid box, select the grid that is used by default for pattern designing.
  2. In the Via grid box, select the grid that is used by default for entering vias.
  3. In the Placement grid box, select the grid that is used by default for placing components.
  4. In the Non conductor grid box, select the grid that is used by default for designing non-conductor figures and objects.
