Compare Design Rules

The Compare Design Rules dialog allows you to compare the design rules created in the Rule Editor dialog to a design rule that you select in a design rule library. The results of the comparison are displayed in the Comparison Result dialog. The Compare Design Rules dialog is displayed as follows.

• When creating a new design rule library in eCADSTAR Library Editor, click Home > Compare > Compare Design Rules on the ribbon when the Rule Editor dialog is displayed.
• When editing a design rule library in eCADSTAR PCB Editor, click Compare design rules in the Rule Editor dialog.

Item		Description
Compare to		Allows you to select a design rule library that contains a design rule with which the specified design rules are compared.
	Design rule library box	Shows the design rule library that you select by clicking the button.
		Click to select a design rule library using the Open dialog.
	Associated Technology Library	Shows the path to the technology library that you select by clicking the Browse button.
		Click to select a technology library using the Open dialog.
Design rule list: Filter		Allows you to filter the design rules in the design rule library that is shown in the Design rule library box.
	Show all design rules	Clears any values that you enter in the Filter section, and displays all design rules in the selected library.
	Name	Enter an alphanumeric value to match to a design rule name. The displayed design rules are filtered using the specified value.
	Number of conductor layers	The number of layers are displayed that are associated with each design rule in the design rule library. The displayed design rules are filtered using the value that you select.
	Technology	The technologies are displayed that are associated with each design rule in the design rule library. The displayed design rules are filtered using the value that you select.
Design rule box		For the library that is selected in the Design rule library box, the design rules are shown that match the values specified in the Filter section.
Execute		Compares the design rules specified in the Rule Editor dialog to the selected design rule in the Compare Design Rules dialog. The results of the comparison are displayed in the Comparison Result dialog, and the Compare Design Rules dialog is closed.
Cancel		Closes the Compare Design Rules dialog without running a comparison.
