Design Comparison

The Design Comparison dialog allows you to execute a design comparison check in eCADSTAR PCB Editor or eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. The tool allows users to check differences between design data in which it can be viewed using the Design Comparison: Results. The tool can be launched form the Design tab on ribbon in the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor and eCADSTAR PCB Editor.

 

Users are able to check the following data:

• PCB design data (.pdes) - PCB design data (.pdes) only if launched from within eCADSTAR PCB Editor.
• PCB design data (.pdes) - Schematic design data (.sdes)
• Schematic design data (.sdes) - Schematic design data (.sdes) only if launched from within eCADSTAR Schematic Editor.

 

 

Command Dialog

 

Value	Sub item	Description
Design for comparison box		Displays the schematic or pcb design that you want to compare to the current design in eCADSTAR PCB Editor or eCADSTAR Schematic Editor. Click to select the required .sdes or .pdes file in the Open dialog.
		Browse to a schematic or pcb design in the displayed Open dialog. The design that you specify is compared to the current design in eCADSTAR PCB Editor or eCADSTAR Schematic Editor.
Execute		Executes the comparison against the open design (active) and the design specified in the Design for comparison box (reference). The Design Comparison: Resultsdialog is displayed.
Cancel		Closes the Design Comparison dialog without executing a comparison.
