Edit Skew Group Dialog

The Edit Skew Group dialog allows you to rename or delete existing Skew Groups, and add or remove Skew Group members. It is displayed by selecting Edit > Edit Skew Group in Constraint Browser, or by clicking Edit Skew Group on the Constraint Browser toolbar. Alternatively, right-click a Skew Group in the Skew Groups tree, in the Skew Groups section in Constraint Browser.

Item   Description
Skew Groups   If you launch this dialog by selecting Edit > Edit Skew Group in Constraint Browser, or by clicking Edit Skew Group on the Constraint Browser toolbar, then all existing Skew Groups are displayed. If you right-click a Skew Group in the Skew Groups tree, in the Skew Groups section in Constraint Browser, then only the selected Skew Group is displayed. This section allows you to rename or delete a selected Skew Group.
  Rename Allows you to rename a Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box by typing a new name for it. Alternatively, right-click the Skew Group and select Rename on the assist menu.
  Delete Allows you to delete a Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box. Alternatively, right-click the Skew Group and select Delete on the assist menu.
Selected Drivers   Lists all components on the board, and allows you to change the driver for the Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box. If you select a driver, then potential receivers are displayed in the Selected Receivers table. The signals are displayed in the Signal Name section that are associated with the specified drivers and receivers.
  • Select multiple items using the CTRL or Shift keys, or by dragging the cursor.
  • Filter the contents of the Selected Drivers table by entering a value in the Filter box. Initially, the contents are filtered to only show components of the same type as the existing driver.
  Filter Allows you to filter the contents of the Selected Drivers table by entering a value. Initially, the contents are filtered to only show components of the same type as the existing driver.
  • To display all types of component, remove the value that is automatically added to this box.
  • If you press Return after entering a value, then the value is saved in the Filter list.
  Component For the Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box, the names are listed of the drivers which can be selected. The driver that is currently associated with the Skew Group is displayed in a "selected" state.
  Part Displays the part name that is associated with each driver.
Selected Receivers   Allows you to change the receiver for the Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box.

Allow creating pin pairs in the driver component

Allows you to create a skew group in which the driver pin and receiver pin are on the same component.

  • Selected: a component can still be selected in the 3: Select Receivers section even if already selected in the 2: Select Drivers section.
  • Not selected: if a component is selected in the 2: Select Drivers section, then it cannot be selected in the 3: Select Receivers section.
  Component For the Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box, the names are listed of the receivers which can be selected. The receiver that is currently associated with the Skew Group is displayed in a "selected" state.
  Part Displays the part name that is associated with the receiver.
Signal Name   Shows the signals associated with any combination of the components that are selected in the Selected Drivers and Selected Receivers tables. You can add signals to the Skew Group Members box by selecting them in this box and clicking Add.
  Filter Allows you to filter the contents of the Signal Name table by entering a value.
  • Signals are displayed whose name contains the specified value.
  • If you press Return after entering a value, the value is saved in the Filter list.
  Signal The name of the signals that are associated with any combination of the components specified in the Selected Drivers and Selected Receivers component tables.
  Pin Pair Displays the pin pair for the signal that is associated with the selected drivers and receivers.
  Member of If the signal is a member of a differential pair or bus, then the name of the differential pair or bus is displayed.
  Add Adds the signals to the Skew Group that you select in this dialog. Click Add to move the signal selected in the Signal Name box to the Skew Group Members box. Select multiple items using the CTRL or Shift keys, or by dragging the cursor.
Skew Group Members   Displays the signals that are members of the Skew Group that you select in the Skew Groups box. Move signals to this box by selecting them in the Signal Name box and clicking Add.
  Base If selected, the associated signal is specified as the base signal for the Skew Group. You can only select one base signal.
  Signal The signal is displayed that is associated with the member of the selected Skew Group.
  Pin Pair The pin pair is displayed that is associated with the member of the selected Skew Group.
  Remove The signal that you select in the Skew Group Members table is removed from the selected Skew Group. It is moved from the Skew Group Members table to the Signal Name table. Select multiple items using the CTRL or Shift keys, or by dragging the cursor.
Close   Closes the Edit Skew Group dialog. The changes that you make to Skew Groups in this dialog are automatically saved.
