Creating and Deleting Net Groups

The following procedures describe how to create and delete net groups in Constraint Browser using the Net Group Manager dialog.

• In eCADSTAR PCB Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Design Rules > Constraint Browser or Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser on the ribbon.
• In eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Browser > Constraint or Home > Browser > Constraint on the ribbon.

Creating Net Groups

Create a new net group as follows.

1. In Constraint Browser, click on the toolbar or click Edit > Net Group Manager on the main menu. The Net Group Manager dialog is displayed.
2. In the Selection list to create/edit box, select signals (E-Nets, Power or Ground) to add to a new net group. You can select multiple items using the CTRL or Shift keys. A suggested name is created automatically in the New Net Group box using the common parts of the selected signals. If no common parts exist, you must type a name in the New Net Group box.
3. Click Create. The specified net group is added to the Existing Net Groups box, and the signals within it are displayed in the Member list box.

Deleting Net Groups

Delete a net group as follows.

1. In Constraint Browser, click on the toolbar or click Edit > Net Group Manager on the main menu. The Net Group Manager dialog is displayed.
2. In the Existing Net Groups box, right-click a net group and select Delete on the assist menu. Alternatively, press the Delete key or click the Delete button. The specified net group is deleted from the Existing Net Groups box.
