Defining Clearance Classes for Signals

The following procedures describe how to define clearance classes for signals in Constraint Browser in eCADSTAR PCB Editor. Launch Constraint Browser by clicking Design > Design Rules > Constraint Browser or Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser on the ribbon.

Defining Clearance Classes for Signals

  1. In Constraint Browser, click the Signals button, and then click the Signals tab. A tree, and a table of signals are displayed.
  2. Click a target signal (E-Net, net or differential pair) on the signal tree. The target signal is displayed in the signal table.
  3. In the Signal table, Design Rule tab, click in the Clearance class cell. The Clearance class dialog is displayed.
  4. Select a clearance class from the list in the Clearance class dialog, and click OK. The specified clearance class is displayed in the Clearance class cell in the signal table.

Defining Clearance Classes for Classes

  1. In Constraint Browser, click the Signals button, and then click the Classes/Groups tab. The tree and table for class/group display are displayed.
  2. Click a target class (E-Net, net class or differential pair class) on the tree for class/group display. The target signal is displayed in the table for class/group display.
  3. In the Classes/Group table, Design Rule tab, click in the Clearance class cell. The Clearance class dialog is displayed.
  4. Select a clearance class from the list in the Clearance class dialog, and click OK. The specified clearance class is displayed in the Clearance class cell, in the table for class/group display.

Note
  • To set a clearance rule between different nets relating to specific signals, set a clearance class and then set a design rule stack in the clearance matrix.
  • A design rule stack can be defined between clearance classes.
  • By setting a clearance class for the class to which signals belong, the rule can be applied without setting a clearance class for each signal.
