Move (Layer)
The Move (Layer) command allows you to move an object to a different layer. Move multiple objects using the Ctrl key; see: Moving Objects to a Different Layer. Execute this command by clicking Home >Move > Layer on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor ribbon, and then selecting an object to move on the canvas. Alternatively, select an object to move on the canvas, and then click Home >Move > Layer on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor ribbon. This command is only available in 2D View mode.
Trunks that spans multiple layers cannot be moved using this command.

Conductor
This section allows you to specify whether net information is kept when an object is moved.
Keep net
Value | Description |
---|---|
ON | If selected, all net information is kept when the object is moved. |
OFF | If selected, no net information is kept when the object is moved. |
Component
This section allows you to move components that are in the same placement group as the dragged object.
Move entire placement group
Value | Description |

ON | If selected, components are also moved that are in the same placement group as the dragged object. |
OFF | Only the selected components are moved when a component is moved. If selected, the Placement side field on the assist menu is made unavailable. |

Apply | Saves the settings that you specify in the Move (Layer) dialog. If you select an object on the canvas and then launch the Move (Layer) command, clicking Apply displays the Move To dialog. The Move (Layer) dialog remains open. If you do not select an object on the canvas, then this button is made unavailable. |
Exit | Closes the Move (Layer) dialog. |
