Commands Available for the Customize Function

The following commands can be assigned to the Quick Access Toolbar and ribbons. You can also create user commands and assign them to various operations in eCADSTAR.

View Functions

Command name Description
Canvas View Settings Configure canvas view settings.
Canvas Angle (0-degree) Change the view angle to 0 degrees (only available in 2D View mode).
Canvas Angle (90-degree) Change the view angle to 90 degrees (only available in 2D View mode).
Canvas Angle (180-degree) Change the view angle to 180 degrees (only available in 2D View mode).
Canvas Angle (270-degree) Change the view angle to 270 degrees (only available in 2D View mode).
3D View Switch between 2D and 3D view modes.
Mirror X-axis Reverse the active canvas horizontally.
Mirror Y-axis Reverse the active canvas vertically.
Preset View (Top) Display the whole from the upper side in 3D view.
Preset View (Bottom) Display the whole from the lower side in 3D view.
Preset View (Front) Display the whole from the front side in 3D view.
Preset View (Back) Display the whole from the rear side in 3D view.
Preset View (Left) Display the whole from the left side in 3D view.
Preset View (Right) Display the whole from the right side in 3D view.
Preset View (Isometric) Display the whole from the oblique upper side in 3D view.
Scale Show the scale on the canvas.
Show Pin Number Show the pin number on the canvas.
Error Mark Show error marks.
Attributes Attributes for the height of the component area are displayed by text strings on the canvas.
Fill drawing area background Fill the drawing area background in the specified color.
Frame View Zoom in or out to view the specified area.
Zoom In Zoom in to the cursor position by a fixed amount.
Zoom Out Zoom out from the cursor position by a fixed amount.
View All View all data that is located within the extents of a design or schematic sheet. Launch this command by selecting View > Zoom > View All on the ribbon. Note that MCAD data is not displayed using this command in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.
View All Data View all data that is associated with a design, including data that is located outside the extents of the design. Launch this command by selecting View > Zoom > View All Data on the ribbon in eCADSTAR PCB Editor or Footprint Editor. An area containing this data is displayed on the canvas.
Smooth Zoom Zoom by dragging the mouse.
Smooth Rotate Rotate by dragging the mouse in 3D view.
Smooth Pan Pan by dragging the mouse.
Save Display Area (1) Save the canvas display area as No.1.
Save Display Area (2) Save the canvas display area as No.2.
Save Display Area (3) Save the canvas display area as No.3.
Save Display Area (4) Save the canvas display area as No.4.
Save Display Area (5) Save the canvas display area as No.5.
Load Display Area (1) Restore the display area saved as No.1.
Load Display Area (2) Restore the display area saved as No.2.
Load Display Area (3) Restore the display area saved as No.3.
Load Display Area (4) Restore the display area saved as No.4.

Previous View Restore the last canvas display area.

Show Grid Display the grid.
Snap Grid Snap input coordinates to grid.
Grid Settings Set the grid.
Mini Canvas Show the mini canvas.
Layer Settings Panel Show the Layer Settings panel.

Pan Up Pan up the canvas view area.
Pan Down Pan down the canvas view area.
Pan Left Pan left the canvas view area.

Pan/Rotate Down In 2D View mode, pan down.

Rotate (Up) In 3D view, rotate the front side upward on the horizontal direction.
Rotate (Down) In 3D view, rotate the front side downward on the horizontal direction.
Rotate (Right) In 3D view, rotate the front side rightward on the vertical direction.
Rotate (Left) In 3D view, rotate the front side leftward on the vertical direction.
Rotate (Clockwise) In 3D view, rotate the board clockwise.
Rotate (Counterclockwise) In 3D view, rotate the board counter-clockwise.
Smart Zoom Zoom in to the defined zoom ratio, or zoom out using the original zoom ratio.
Store Smart Zoom Area Store the current zoom ratio for smart-zoom.

Select by Area Select all figures intersecting the input area (only available in 2D View mode).
Select Section Select a section for line and area fill.
Deselect All Clear all selections.
Next Select another object that is overlapped with the selected object.
Previous Select another object that is overlapped with the selected object.
Select Preview Next Change the preview target which the cursor is on (Ascending).
Select Preview Previous Change the preview target which the cursor is on (Descending).
Select Only Active Layer Select figures that are only on the active layer.
Select Segments/Vertices Select segments and vertices.
Object Filter Show the Object Filter dialog.
Change Object Filter Show the dialog to change the object filter.
Snap Snap to vertices (only available in 2D View mode).
Next Snap Point

Switch between overlapping snap points.

Enlarge Trap Area Enlarge the selectable range using the arrowhead of the mouse.
Reduce Trap Area Reduce the selectable range using the arrowhead of the mouse.
Another Section Reselect the opposite section of a selected section.

Undo Undo the last operation.
Redo Redo the last operation.
Cut Cut the selected object and store it to clipboard (only available in 2D View mode).
Copy Copy the selected object to the clipboard (only available in 2D View mode).
Paste Add the object that is stored on the clipboard (only available in 2D View mode).
Reshape Edit the object shape continuously (only available in 2D View mode).
Move Move an object to the specified position (only available in 2D View mode).
Rotate Rotate an object, specifying the center coordinates and angle (only available in 2D View mode).
Flip Horizontally Flip an object along the Y axis (only available in 2D View mode).
Flip Vertically Flip an object along the X axis (only available in 2D View mode).
Move (Layer) Specify the destination layer to move an object to (only available in 2D View mode).
Move Section Move the selected section.
Offset Add an offset figure for the selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Merge Add a figure that is merged from a selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Divide Divide a selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Subtract Subtract an object by the specified mode (only available in 2D View mode).
Fillet Fillet the  corner of a selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Delete Fillet Change the tangent arc of the selected object to a corner shape.
Chamfer Chamfer the corner of a selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Reshape Edit an object shape.
Delete Delete a selected object (only available in 2D View mode).
Move Layer Specify the destination layer to move an object to (only available in 2D View mode).

Close Close the active data.
Save Save the active data.
Save As Save the active file with a different name. If you execute this command in a High Speed design without a High Speed license, then any High Speed attributes are made unavailable in the created design. If you open the created design with a High Speed license, then the High Speed attributes are made available.
Import (DXF) Import DXF to the active document.
Import (Data Resource) Import a data resource from file.
Import Layer View Update layer views of documents from the layerview resource.
Import Layer Set Update layer sets of the active document, loading the layer set resource.
Export (Data Resource) Export a data resource to file.
Export Layer View Export a layer view to the layerview resource.
Export Layer Set Export all layer sets of the active document to the layer set resource.
Print Print the active file.

Functions that Help Commands

The following are general-purpose auxiliary functions to operate commands. They can be executed while running almost any command.

The following are command-specific auxiliary functions. You can check whether they can be started by opening the assist menu.
