Setting Non-Conductor Details
The following procedures describe how to set design rules for non-conductor objects, including the minimum size, spacing and orientation of symbol marks, and clearance values for resists and symbol marks. This is done in the Non Conductor tab in the Rule Editor dialog.
Setting the Symbol Mark Specification
Set the size and spacing of symbol text, and restrict their rotation to specified angles as follows.
- In the Minimum text width box, specify the minimum width for symbol text.
- In the Minimum text height box, specify the minimum height for symbol text.
- In the Minimum text spacing box, specify the minimum spacing between symbol text characters.
- To restrict the angles at which symbol text is displayed on each side of the board, select the relevant angles in the Restrict to following text angle table.
- If no angles are selected, you can enter symbol text at any angle.
- You can select multiple angles for each side of the board.
Setting the Clearance
Set clearances for resists and symbol marks as follows. Different values can be specified for the wave and reflow sides.
- In the Resist - Resist boxes, specify the clearance between the resist openings for the Wave, and Single Reflow/Reflow soldering methods.
- In the Resist - Conductor boxes, specify the clearance between the resist openings and a conductor for the Wave, and Single Reflow/Reflow soldering methods.
- In the Symbol Mark - Hole box, specify the clearance between a symbol mark and a hole.
- In the Symbol Mark- Resist box, specify the clearance between a symbol mark and a resist opening.
