Download Manager
The Download Manager dialog allows you to configure and track the download of data in eCADSTAR. It allows you to save a mapping file that defines how library data is merged into the most-recently active open design in eCADSTAR. It also allows you to browse to downloaded files, and begin the process of merging downloaded data. This dialog is displayed in eCADSTAR by clicking Home > Display > Download Manager on the Start Page.
Library Data

Library Mapping File | Displays the mapping file that is used to map the layers in
the imported data to the layers in the destination library. This
file is created in the Footprint
Layer Mapping dialog when downloaded library data is merged
into the library. When you first use the Download
Manager, this box is empty. The mapping file that is created
can be reused, which is helpful when downloading multiple parts
from the same online library, for example. If Automatically
merge library data when download finishes is selected,
then the specified file is referred to when the library data is
merged.

Allows you to browse to a mapping file (*.libmap) in the displayed Open dialog. This file is created in the Footprint Layer Mapping dialog when downloaded library data is merged into the library. Select the required mapping file, and click Open in the dialog. For all downloaded files shown in the Download Manager dialog, the selected mapping file is used to map the layers in the downloaded library data to the most-recently active open design in eCADSTAR. | |
Automatically merge library data when download finishes | If you download library data, this setting allows you specify that eCADSTAR automatically starts to merge it when the download is complete. This setting does not apply to data that you drag into eCADSTAR using Windows Explorer. This field is not available in eCADSTAR Library Editor. | |
Selected | If you browse to a file to download within eCADSTAR, the Download Requested dialog is displayed. Any library data that you download will start to merge when the download is complete, regardless of whether you specify Open or Save in the Download Requested dialog. | |
Not Selected | If you browse to a file to download within eCADSTAR, the Merge Confirmation dialog is displayed. Click Merge in this dialog to merge the contents of the file into the relevant design. | |
Automatically send downloaded parts to last active design |
If you download a single part which contains a footprint, then this setting allows the Add Component command to be launched automatically after the part is merged. The Add Component command allows you to add a downloaded part to the most-recently active open design in eCADSTAR. |

Download section
Value | Description |

Download details | If you browse to a file to download within eCADSTAR, the name of the file, the location from which it was downloaded, and the progress of the download, as a percentage, is displayed for each file. |
Open | If the downloaded file does not contain library data, then the Open button is displayed instead of the Merge button. Click this button to open the downloaded file in Windows Explorer. |
Merge | If a downloaded zip file contains library data, then the Open button for the relevant entry in the download manager is automatically changed to Merge. |
Open Folder | Opens the location in Windows Explorer that the download was saved to. |
Remove | The associated downloaded file is removed from the Download Manager dialog. However, it is not deleted. |
- In eCADSTAR PCB Editor and eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, downloaded data is merged into the library that is specified in the Library section of the Product Settings dialog.
- In order to merge a part into a relevant design, the part must contain a footprint.
