Specifying Grids in eCADSTAR PCB Editor

The following procedures describe alternative ways to set the style of Track, Via, Placement and Non conductor grids in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.

Entering Values in the Grid Settings Dialog

Set values in the Grid Settings dialog as follows.

  1. On the status bar, click Snap GridSnap Grid split button >Grid SettingsGrid Settings (the Snap Grid icon could be TrackSnap Grid,PlacementSnap Grid orNon-conductorSnap Grid). The Grid Settings dialog is displayed.

  3. On the status bar, select a grid in the box to the left of the Snap Via Grid button. Grids are listed that are created in the Design Rule Editor dialog.
  4. Select a Grid name. The values in the selected grid are applied to the Via grid that is displayed on the canvas.

Entering Numeric Values

Specify grid settings by entering numeric values.

  1. To set the pitch and highlight interval of a Track, Placement and Non conductor grid, enter a numeric value in the Grid pitch box to the left of Snap Grid Snap Grid button on the status bar (the Snap Grid icon could be TrackSnap Grid,PlacementSnap Grid orNon-conductorSnap Grid). The specified pitch and highlight interval is set for the displayed grid.
  2. To set the pitch and highlight interval of a via grid, enter a numeric value in the box to the left of the Snap Via Grid button on the status bar. The specified pitch and highlight interval is set for the displayed grid.
    For example:
  3. 0.2: grid pitch (X, Y) is set to (0.2, 0.2).
  4. 0.2*5: grid pitch (X, Y) is set to (0.2, 0.2). The highlight interval (X, Y) is set to (5, 5).
  5. 1/5: grid pitch (X, Y) is set to (0.2, 0.2). The highlight interval (X, Y) is set to (5, 5).
