Snapping to the Grid
The following procedures describe how to snap a specified point to the grid (2D View mode only).
Snapping to the Referenced Grid
The following procedure describes how to snap a specified point to the referenced grid.
- Enable the Snap Grid by either clicking
Snap Grid split button on the status bar, or by clicking Design > Snap >
Snap Grid on the ribbon.
- The icon for Snap Grid
can be Placement
, Non-conductor
or Track
.
Note
- If the active layer is a conductor layer, then the routing grid is referenced. Otherwise, the non-conductor grid is referenced.
- When a dragged component is displayed, the placement grid is referenced, regardless of the state of the active layer.
Snapping to the Via Grid
When you enter a padstack, or drag a padstack to move,
duplicate, or paste it, then the specified point is snapped to the via
grid. Enable the Snap Via Grid by either clicking Snap Via Grid on the status bar, or by
clicking Design > Snap >
Snap Via Grid on the ribbon.
