Measure
The Measure command
allows you to measure the distance between two positions on the canvas.
It is executed by clicking on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor
or Footprint Editor
ribbon. The measured distances are displayed on the canvas while the command
is running. This command is only available in 2D
View mode.

The angle of the measure is limited to horizontal directions
(parallel to the X-axis). |
Vertical

The angle of the measure is limited to vertical directions
(parallel to the Y-axis). |
Search data
Value | Description |

ON | If you click on a figure when using the Measure
command, then the position specified in the Snap
to field is defined as a measurement point. If the position
specified on the canvas is not a figure, then it is defined as
a measurement point. If Search data
is selected:
- The Item of
measure and Snap to
fields are made available.
- If there are multiple objects at the selected
position, then the Next
item on the assist menu is made available. This allows you
to cancel the current selection and select the next object.

OFF | The position that you specify on the canvas is defined as a
measurement point. If selected, then the Item
of measure and Snap to
fields are made unavailable. |
Item of measure
This field is made available if you select ON
in the Search data field.
Value | Description |

2 points | The measured value is the distance between the two measurement
points that you specify. |
Shortest figure | The measured value is the shortest distance between the figures
that you specify on the canvas. |
Segment | The measured value is the shortest distance between segments
of the figures that you specify on the canvas. |
Snap to
This field is made available if you select ON
in the Search data field.
Value | Description |

Center | The center of the figure is defined as a measurement point. |
Edge | The edge of the figure is defined as a measurement point. |
Graduation pitch
Value | Description |
---|
Real number greater than 0. | The distance between graduations on the displayed measure. |
Graduation height
Value | Description |
---|
Real number greater than 0. | The height of graduations on the displayed measure. |
