Editing Component Settings
The following procedures describe how to configure the placement of the decoupling capacitors (decaps) and jumpers that you select in the Component Settings dialog.
Setting Rules for Decoupling Capacitors
The following procedure describes how to set the rules that are referenced, by default, for placing decoupling capacitors (decaps).
- In the Rule Editor Dialog, click Component Settings. The Component Settings dialog is displayed.
- In the Component Settings dialog, select the Decoupling Capacitor tab. Only parts that can be set as decoupling capacitors are displayed in the Part list box.
- In the Part list box, select the parts to be used as decoupling capacitors and click Add. The selected parts are moved to the Part column in the Decoupling Capacitor tab.
- In the Permitted Placement Side and Permitted Placement Angle columns, specify the rules for placing decoupling capacitors.
- To exclude parts from being used as decoupling capacitors, select them in the Part column and click Remove. The selected parts are moved to the Part list.
Setting Rules for Jumpers
The following procedure describes how to set the rules that are referenced, by default, for placing jumpers.
- In the Rule Editor Dialog, click Component Settings. The Component Settings dialog is displayed.
- In the Component Settings dialog, select the Jumper tab. Only parts that can be set as jumpers are displayed in the Part list box.
- In the Part list box, select the parts to be used as jumpers and click Add. The selected parts are moved to the Part column in the Jumper tab.
- In the Permitted Placement Side and Permitted Placement Angle columns, specify the rules for placing jumpers.
- To exclude parts from being used as jumpers, select them in the Part column and click Remove. The selected parts are moved to the Part list.
Note
- If parts that do not exist in the library have been set for decoupling capacitors (decaps) or jumpers, an error mark is displayed for each corresponding part name.
- The settings in the design data can be viewed and changed in the Constraint Browser, Parts tab.
