Import (Design Rule Library)
The Import (Design Rule Library) dialog allows you to import a design rule from a selected design rule library to the design data that is being edited. It is displayed by clicking Import (Full) in the Rule Editor dialog in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.
Item | Description | |
---|---|---|
Design rule library | Shows the design rule library that is referenced. Design rules in the selected design rule library are shown in the Design rule list box. | |
![]() |
Select a design rule library using the Open dialog. The selected design rule library is shown in the Design Rule Library box. | |
Associated Technology Library | Specify the technology library that is referenced. When a design rule is imported, the design data is reconstructed using the specified library. | |
![]() |
Select a technology library in the Open dialog. The selected technology library is shown in the Associated Technology Library box. | |
Design rule list | Shows the design rules in the selected design rule library, and allows you to filter them. | |
Filter | Allows you to filter the design rules in the selected design rule library. | |
![]() |
Clears any values that you enter in the Filter section, and shows all design rules in the selected library. | |
Name | Enter an alphanumeric value to match to a design rule name. The displayed design rules are filtered using the specified value. The value that you enter is not case-sensitive. | |
Number of conductor layers | The number of layers are shown that are associated with each design rule in the design rule library. The displayed design rules are filtered using the value that you select. | |
Technology | The technologies are shown that are associated with the selected design rule library. The displayed design rules are filtered using the value that you select. | |
Design rule list box | Shows the design rules in the selected design rule library. This list can be filtered by entering values in the Filter section. | |
Technology information in board | This section allows you to view the conductor layers in the design data, and in the technology that you select in the Technology list box. It also allows you to specify that layer comments in the design data are kept. | |
Technology information in board box | Shows the conductor layers in the design data, and in the design
rule that you select in the Design
rule list box.
|
|
![]() |
Moves a selected layer up by one place in the Technology information in board box. | |
![]() |
Moves a selected layer down by one place in the Technology information in board box. | |
Keep layer comment | If selected, layer comments in the design data are kept. | |
Library reload | When the design rule is imported, this section allows you specify that all footprints, padstacks and pads in the design library are overwritten by the components in the library. | |
Reload all footprints, padstacks and pads | If selected, all footprints, padstacks and pads in the design library are overwritten by the components in the library. | |
Footprint | Allows you to specify whether padstacks shapes, pad shapes and general figures in components are kept when the design rule is imported. | |
Keep edited padstacks | If selected, padstack shapes are kept for the components in the design library. | |
Keep edited pads | If selected, pad shapes are kept for the components in the design library. | |
Keep edited figures | If selected, general figures in the components are kept. These include lines and other editable internal component figures, but exclude component symbols, padstacks and pads. | |
Track | Allows you to specify whether routing patterns that connect to unconnected pins are kept. | |
Keep unconnected track | If selected, routing patterns that connect to unconnected pins are kept. | |
Overwrite | The selected design rule is imported and the design data is reconstructed. | |
Close | Closes the Import (Design Rule Library) without importing design rules. |
