Changing the Object Color

The following procedures describe how to set the object color for each data layer and drawing layer of a particular layer, and for each net. The color specified for each net is prioritized over the color specified for each layer.

Changing the Object Color for each Layer

Object color can be set as follows for each data layer and drawing layer, for a particular layer.

  1. Right-click on the status bar and select Layer Settings on the assist menu or click View > Display > Layer Settings Panel Layer Settings on the ribbon. The Layer Settings panel is displayed.
  2. Change the style of objects on a layer by clicking the associated cell in the View style or View drawing style column, in the Layer View table. The relevant section is displayed in the Layer Details section.
  3. Show the drawing layer columns by selecting Show in grid in the Drawing layer section.
  4. Select multiple layers using the Ctrl or Shift keys or by dragging the cursor.
  1. Click the View style cell for the relevant layer.
  2. In the Data layer section of the Layer Details section, click the Color box. The Select Color dialog is displayed.
  3. In Basic colors, click a color for the object. To set a color that is not listed in Basic colors, click the color in Other colors section.
  4. If required, click Add to Custom Colors to add the selected color to the Custom colors.
  5. To use a pre-defined Custom color, select it from the Custom colors displayed.
  6. In the Select Color dialog, click OK. The object color for the selected layer is changed to the specified color.

Changing the Object Color for each Net

  1. On the ribbon, click Design > Design Rules  > Constraint Browser Constraint Browser. Alternatively, click Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser Constraint Browser. The Constraint Browser is displayed.
  2. In Constraint Browser, on the Signals tab, choose the net for which you want to change the object color. The selected net is displayed in the table.
  3. Click the Color column cell in the table. Select color dialog view is displayed in the cell.
  4. If you click the above button, the Select Color dialog is displayed.
  5. In Basic colors, click a color for the object. To set a color that is not listed in Basic colors, click the color in Other colors.
  6. If required, click Add to Custom Colors to add the selected color to the Custom colors.
  7. To use a pre-defined Custom color, select it from the Custom colors displayed.
  8. Specify the required color, and press OK. The color is changed for all objects that belong to the specified net.

Canceling the Object Color Settings for each Net

  1. On the ribbon, click Design > Design Rules  > Constraint Browser Constraint Browser. Alternatively, click Home > Design Rules > Constraint Browser Constraint Browser. The Constraint Browser is displayed.
  2. In Constraint Browser, on the Signals tab, choose the net for which you want to change the object color. The selected net is displayed in the table.
  3. Right-click the Color column cell in the table. An assist menu is displayed.
  4. On the assist menu, click Delete. The color settings are canceled for the objects that belong to the net.

Changing the Color for a No Net Pattern

The color of a pattern that has no nets can be changed, as follows. This includes conductor lines, conductor areas, conductor pads and padstacks.

  1. On the ribbon, click View > Canvas > Canvas View Settings. Alternatively, click Home > Display > Canvas View Settings. The Canvas View Settings dialog is displayed.
  2. On the Track tab, select Color no net conductor then click the Color button. The Select Color dialog is displayed.
  3. In Basic colors, click a color for the object. To set a color that is not listed in Basic colors, click the color in Other colors.
  4. If required, click Add to Custom Colors to add the selected color to the Custom colors.
  5. To use a pre-defined Custom color, select it from the Custom colors displayed.
  6. Specify the required color, and press OK. The color for the no net pattern is changed.

 

Note
  • Object color settings apply to the design data, even when displayed in multiple windows.
  • Color settings for each net may not be applied. If this is the case, the object is displayed with the color set for each layer.
