Output (Photo Data) dialog: Basic Settings Tab

The Output (Photo Data) dialog, Basic Settings tab is described below.

Item Description
Import parameters   Allows you to import parameters to this dialog by selecting a parameter file in the Open dialog and clicking Open.
Export parameters   Allows you to save the parameters that you set in this dialog by specifying a location and file name in the Save As dialog, and clicking Save.
Unit   Specify the units in which data are generated using the Output (Drill Data dialog.
mm Data are generated in millimeters.
inch Data are generated in inches.
mil Data are generated in mils.
micron Data are generated in microns.

Output

Item Description
Output folder Outputs photo data to the specified folder.
Note
When recording a macro that will output the photo data to a folder in the project directory, the command ${dbDirPath} can be used to define the project directory.$ can only be used in a path for macro definition.
For example, to output photo data to an output folder in the project directory, the command ${dbDirPath}\Output should be typed into the Output location.

Extension

ItemDescription
Output Extension name This field will accept a user defined text string and append it as the file extension. This is a replacement for the .fph file extension.

Manufacturing rule

SettingDescription
ItemValue
NCF filePathThe NCF file that is referenced when photo data is generated.
Assign D codeAutoAutomatically assigns D codes.
Semi-autoAssigns D codes by referencing the TBL file. D codes are automatically assigned to an aperture with a size that is not defined in the TBL file.
Edit NCFDisplays the NCF Editor dialog. This dialog allows you to configure the format of the NCF file that is referenced when photo data is generated.
Table filePathThe table file that is referenced in Semi-auto mode.
Allows you to browse to a table file in the displayed Open dialog. Select a .table file, and click Open.
Pre-check Runs the Photo Pre-check process using the options that you set for NCF file, Assign D Code and Table file. This process detects objects that may cause an error when exporting photo data. If the design has variants, then they are displayed in the Select Variant dialog. Select the required variant and click OK.
Edit Table Displays Table Editor dialog. This dialog allows you to edit the table file that is shown in Table file box. You can specify values for aperture shapes and tools, and also merge values from another table file. If you have not specified a table file, then clicking Edit Table allows you to create one, and set the relevant values in the Table Editor dialog. A dialog is displayed which allows you to create the new table file. If you click Yes in this dialog, then the New (Table dialog is displayed.

Note
A license is required to access the variation functionality in eCADSTAR.

Board outline output

If the board outline or the outline by conductor layer is targeted for output, then this section allows you to specify how to output the board outline.

SettingDescription
ItemValue
Output only outline as streamSelectedHandles the edge of a board outline as a center line, and outputs it with stream data. The Line width box is made available.
Not selectedHandles the board outline as a filled item, and output is based on the settings for Polygon Data in the NCF file.
Line widthReal number between 0.0 and 5000.0 mm (inclusive).Specify the line width to handle the edge of the board outline as a center line.

Coordinates settings

SettingDescription
ItemValue
Specify output areaSelectedAllows you to define a rectangular output area by specifying the coordinates of its start and end points. The fields in this section are made available. Photo data is output that is only in the area defined by the start and end points that you specify.
Not selectedAll of the photo data in the PCB is output. The fields in this section are made unavailable.
Start point: XReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmWhen Specify output area is selected, set the X coordinate at the starting point.
Start point: YReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmWhen Specify output area is selected, set the Y coordinate at the starting point.
End point: XReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmWhen Specify output area is selected, set the X coordinate at the ending point.
End point: YReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmWhen Specify output area is selected, set the Y coordinate at the ending point.
Reference point: XReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmSpecify the X coordinate for the reference point for rotation or scale.
Reference point: YReal number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mmSpecify the Y coordinate for the reference point for rotation or scale.
Rotate0-degree (No rotation)No rotation is applied.
90-degreeRotates the coordinate system 90 degrees counterclockwise.
180-degreeRotates the coordinate system 180 degrees counterclockwise.
270-degreeRotates the coordinate system 270 degrees counterclockwise.
ScaleReal number between 0.02 and 50.0Scales output data using the specified value.

Offset

Allows you to offset the coordinates of data by a specified amount, and place a reference point at the coordinates that you specify.

Specify offset valueOffsets the coordinates of data by the specified amount.
Specify placement pointPlaces the reference point at the specified coordinates.
 X
  • Indicates the offset in the X direction for the Specify offset value.
  • Indicates the X coordinate value for Specify placement point (real number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mm).
 Y
  • Indicates the offset in the Y direction for the Specify offset value.
  • Indicates the Y coordinate value for Specify placement point (real number between -5000.0 and 5000.0 mm).

Note
When Scale is specified, the aperture shape is not scaled.
