For a design rule that is associated with a selected technology,
the Select Technology dialog allows you
to add the design rule to the design rule library. This dialog is displayed
by clicking Add design rule in the Rule
Editor dialog, Design rule list pane.
The Rule Editor dialog is displayed by
clicking Home > Editors > 
Rule on the eCADSTAR Library Editor ribbon.

| Filter | Allows you to filter the technologies that are displayed in the Technology list box. | |

Removes any values that you set in the Filter group, and displays all technologies in the selected Technology library. | |
| Name | Technologies are shown in the Technology list box whose name matches the value that you enter in this box. | |
| Number of conductor layers | Lists the number of layers associated with each technology in the selected technology library. Select an item in this box to show the associated technology in the Technology list box. | |
| Comment | Technologies are shown in the Technology list box whose associated comment matches the value that you enter in this box. | |
| Technology list box | Shows the technologies that are associated with the technology library shown in the Technology library box. Filter the displayed items by entering values in the boxes in the Filter group. | |
| OK | Adds a new design rule named "NewRule" in the Rule Editor Dialog, Design rule list pane, and closes the Select Technology dialog. Rename the design rule by typing a new name. Subsequent design rules are named "NewRule_n" ( where "n" is an integer that is added to avoid duplicate design rules). | |
| Cancel | Closes the Select Technology dialog without creating a new design rule. |
