Change Symbol

The Change Symbol command allows you to change the symbol and symbol alternate for a symbol that you select on the canvas. To change a symbol and symbol alternate, select the symbol on the canvas and click Component > Change > Change Symbol on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon. In the displayed Change Symbol dialog, click to display the Library Searcher panel. Double-clicking a symbol in the Library Searcher panel displays the associated details in the Change Symbol dialog. Any messages relating to the command are displayed in the Output Panel .

Dialog

Value		Description
Symbol name		Displays the name of the symbol that is selected on the canvas. Click by the Symbol name box to display the Library Searcher panel. Double-click a row in the Library Searcher panel to add the symbol name to the Symbol name box.
		If it is not already displayed, the Library Searcher panel is displayed. Double-click a row in the Library Searcher panel to add the associated value to the Symbol name box.
Symbol alternate		If there is an alternate symbol in the Master Library or Design Library for the selected symbol, then you can select it in the Symbol alternate box.
Apply		Updates the symbol that you select on the canvas. The Change Symbol dialog is closed, and the updated symbol is highlighted on the canvas.
Exit		Closes the Change Symbol dialog without updating the selected symbol.
