The Save Design As command allows you to save a copy of a loaded design using a specified name. You can save the design in either the current format, or in the previously-released version of eCADSTAR that you select. By default, it is saved in the current version. Launch this command by opening a design in eCADSTAR Schematic Editor, and then selecting File > Save Design As on the ribbon. A design with the specified name is created at the location that you enter in the Design Location box, in the Save Design As dialog. The names of all relevant design files are updated.
- If a design cannot be saved, then no changes are made to it. This may occur if you do not have write permission on the destination folder or if another user is editing a schematic sheet, for example.
- If you save a schematic design in version 2021.0 or earlier, then its local part library is deleted.
