The following procedure describes how to change the order that layers are displayed on the canvas.
- Toggle on the display of the Layer
Settings panel by clicking View >
Display >
Layer Settings on the ribbon.
Alternatively, click Layer
Settings on the status bar. - Right-click in the Layer View table in the Layer Settings panel, and select Canvas Display Order on the assist menu. The Canvas Display Order dialog is displayed. The higher in the list that the layer name appears, the more towards the front it is displayed on the canvas.
- Sort the layers in the desired display order using the arrow buttons and click OK. The layers are displayed on the canvas in the specified order.

The active layer is always displayed in the foreground, regardless of how the order of layers is configured.
