Importing Board Information from a DXF File

Board information can be imported from a DXF file using the Import (DXF) dialog. DXF versions 12 and 14 can be imported.

Importing a DXF File

Import a DXF file as follows:

  1. On the ribbon, click Design > Import > Import (DXF) DXF. The Import (DXF) dialog is displayed.
  2. In the File box, set the path to a DXF file to import.
  3. Click Edit parameters to edit the parameters in the DXF file. The Edit Parameters dialog is displayed.
  4. Set parameters on the Layer mapping and Import pages, and click OK.
  5. In the Import (DXF) dialog, click Execute to start the import process.

Saving Parameters for DXF Import

The parameters that you set in the Edit parameters dialog can be saved to a file, as follows:

  1. In the Edit Parameters dialog, configure the parameters.
  2. Click Export parameters in the Edit Parameters dialog. The Save As dialog is displayed.
  3. In the Save As dialog, set the destination and file name and click Save.

Loading Parameters for DXF Import

Load parameters that are stored in a file, as follows:

  1. In the Edit Parameters dialog, click Import parameters. The Open dialog is displayed.
  2. Specify a file to load and click Open. The parameters are set in the Edit Parameters dialog.
