Decoupling Capacitor

The Decoupling Capacitor command allows you to create a decoupling capacitor (decap). It is displayed by clicking Component > Add > Generate Decoupling Capacitor Decoupling Capacitor on the ribbon in eCADSTAR PCB Editor. This command is only available in 2D View mode.

Reference A decoupling capacitor is generated for a component with the reference name that you specify in the Name box.
Part A decoupling capacitor is generated for a component with the part name that you specify in the Name box.

StringSpecify a component name to which you want to generate a decoupling capacitor. Wild cards (* or ?) can be used for the name. See: Filtering Displayed Values in eCADSTAR Tables.

Decoupling Capacitor

Part name

(Part name)Select the part name for the decoupling capacitor that is generated.
  1. If decoupling capacitors were defined in the design rules, their part names are displayed in the Part name list.
  2. If decoupling capacitors were not defined in the design rules, parts that have two pins in Component Library in Board are displayed in the list.

Pin 1

(Pin name)Displays the value of Pin 1 for the part that you select in the Part name box.

Net name

(Net name)Select the net name to be connected to Pin 1 of the decoupling capacitor.

Pin 2

Prefix

StringFor the decoupling capacitor that is generated, specify the prefix of the reference designator.
