Change Land Status
For a padstack on the active layer, the Change
Land Status command allows you to change the land status of a pad
(only available in 2D View mode). All
layers that are associated with the relevant via must be made visible
and selectable using the Layer
Settings Panel. Launch this command by clicking Padstack
> Pad/Padstack > Change Land Status on
the ribbon in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.
Command dialog
Land status
Value | Description |
---|---|
Landless | For conductor layer pads, the land status is changed to "Landless". For non-conductor layer pads, the pad is excluded and changed to a landless pad. |
Connected | The land status is changed to "Connected" (conductor layers only). When changing the land status from Unconnected to Connected, it is important that all layers associated with the relevant via are made visible and selectable. |
Unconnected | The land status is changed to "Unconnected" (conductor layers only). |
Thermal | The land status is changed to "Thermal" (conductor layers only). |
Clearance | The land status is changed to "Clearance" (conductor layers only). |
Note
- Padstacks without a hole cannot be changed into the Landless state, or into any other state that does not have a pad shape.
- A status of Unconnected could be specified for a connected pad. If the unconnected pad is smaller than the connected pad, this would allow space for tracking, for example.
- The land status that can be selected is dependent on the following conditions.
- On the negative layer, padstacks cannot be changed into Connected or Unconnected.
- On the positive layer, padstacks cannot be changed into Thermal or Clearance.
- On the Track Keepout layer, padstacks cannot be changed into ConnectedThermal or Clearance.
- When changing the land status for a padstack, DRC errors may be generated if design rules are violated for spacing or clearance.
- The DRC Settings Dialog: Track/Component Tab allows you to check for inconsistencies in the land status of a padstack.
